Born and raised on the Lower East Side of New York City. Yvette's early education started at Dewitt Baptist Church Head Start where her mother worked as an assistant teacher. She also attended Sunday bible class and church service. Yvette comes from a long line of artists, so her love for doodling and poetry comes naturally.

In 1999, she started writing to entertain co-workers; one chapter led to another and another chapter lead to even more. Unbeknownst to her, it would be the start of a new love. Dakota was written over 16 years ago, the trails of life put the release of Dakota to a halt and the book was filed away as an archive.

 

One day, Yvette remembered the book and realized it was a hidden treasure, a gift that God created, that had perfect timing. Timing is the essence of all things, timing is pregnant and marinating with possibilities waiting to give birth and much like birth you do not go into labor until your time comes. Time prepares us to go through, overcome, experience, learn, teach, provide and guide. At the very point when all purposes are fulfilled, timing brings everything together. Yvette currently lives in Philadelphia, PA and is the mother of two daughters Nia & Kree and the Grandmother of Carter Kree.
